British-American Cup, 1921
Archive Item Type: Object
Silver trophy awarded to the winning team of the first British American Cup series, held between 1921 and 1924.
The series races were held annually over four years, with each year alternating between the UK and America. The British team won the first set of races in Cowes in 1921, with the Americans beating the British team in Oyster Bay near New York in 1922. The British team won the following two years, however, qualifying them as the victors and ending the series. The cup was presented to the British Team to keep permanently.
