About the project

The Six Metre Archive was set up by the International Six Metre Association to help preserve the history of the class and allow easier access to archives.

Thanks to the collaborative works of many museums, archives, yacht clubs and individuals, we have managed to create a single resource of material. The archive contains items such as photographs, documents, certificates, correspondence, race reports and regatta programmes.

The content of the site is split into three main sections:

  • The archive contains digitised copies of original archive material. This area is the main body of the site.
  • Boat profiles is an area where you can find basic information on individual boats.
  • Race results contains the results of various Six Metre regattas held over the years, including World and European Championships as well as smaller events.

The site is very active and new material is being added all the time. It was launched in 2019 and will take time to build, so please bear with us while we add new material. We are a big community and we welcome submissions from all over the world. Please get in touch if you have a hidden box of records you would like to share!
