Kitsita II

Kitsita II was designed by Kund H.Reimers and built in Copenhagen in 1935 for Baron C. Juel-Brockdorff by the Nordbjaerg Yards.

It is believed that during the Second World War the lead keel was stripped and the boat was refitted with a cast iron keel.

In the 1960s she was owned by Fred Mazza and sailed out of the Queen City Yacht Club in Toronto.

She was owned by the Kennedy family between 1973 and 2016 and rebuilt in 1974/1975 by C & C Custom Yachts.

Kitsita II (KC26) competed at the 2017 World Championships in Vancouver. She was helmed by Peter Faget and one of the crew members was Ron Mazza, the son of the previous owner Fred Mazza.

In 2018, she was purchased by a Swiss owner and taken to Salt Spring Island in British Columbia’s Gulf Islands where she was restored by Mark Wallace. The restoration included a new lead keel.

In 2024, Kitsita II is being raced in Vancouver, Canada.
