Lalage
In 1936, representing Great Britain, Lalage won the Six Metre sailing at the Olympics held in Kiel, Germany, with Christopher Boardman at the helm.
Representing Belgium, she then competed at the 1948 Olympics in Torbay, UK, with Louis Franck at the helm.
In 1949, competing as K51, Lalage took part in the British-American Cup, which was staged in the Solent, UK. She was helmed by Frank Murdoch, who was noted for giving “…the finest team racing performance put up by either side…”. (Source: The Yachtsman’s Annual, 1949-50, pg 122).
Lalage is thought to have been destroyed in a fire.
