Letter, January 1959

Archive Item Type: ,

Three letters circulated to members of the Royal Thames Yacht Club Six Metre syndicate who had made a financial contribution to the upkeep of the boat.

The first letter introduces and encloses the second two, as a courtesy to those who had made a contribution to the Six Metre fund.

The second letter was sent to those members of the syndicate who had not contributed to the Six Metre fund. The letter explains a financial shortfall and suggests that, if the finances do not improve, then Royal Thames should be put up for sale. It offers members a final opportunity to make a contribution and to give their opinion on whether the boat should be fitted out to sail in 1959.

The third letter was sent to members of the RTYC who were not members of the Six Metre syndicate. The letter explains the committee’s difficulties in raising sufficient funds to fit out the boat for the 1959 season. It offers members an opportunity to donate a suggested £5 to the Six Metre fund to cover the 1959 season.
