Nada on a crane, Oslo, 1933

Photograph of Nada being lifted from the deck of the transport vessel Blenheim in Oslo. A figure can be seen in the boat as she is lifted high in the air, while other figures can be see standing on the deck at the bow of the ship. It is thought that this photograph shows Nada’s arrival in Norway for the 1933 Scandinavian Gold Cup.
The original caption reads: “Oslo. Miles in Nada as she is lifted into water.”
Photograph by Christopher Boardman. The image was included in an untitled album of pictures. The images from the album were taken at the Scandinavian Gold Cup in Hankö, Norway, and Burnham on Crouch, UK in 1933/34. Other images from the album can be found here.
