The start of a Six – part 5
July 26th, 2022
The deck is attached
In January 2022 work started on a brand new Six Metre at Red Sky Yachts in Kotka, Finland. The new boat, named “Oiva”, has been designed by Allan Savolainen, with the project being overseen by Chris Winter. She is being built for Six Metre sailor Henrik Andersin. This is our fifth update on the progress of the build.
Chris describes the current state of the build at the end of July:
“This has been a really exciting time as all the pieces start to move toward final assembly. There has been a lot of hull preparation with all the floors and ring frames being installed. All interior parts were put in place before painting the interior. The deck was then installed with the exoskeleton in place to assure hull shape. The wing moulds are made and installation of the keel should be within the next two weeks.”
