The start of a Six – part 6

Oiva hits the water
For the last few months we have been publishing updates on a brand new Six Metre being built at Red Sky Yachts in Kotka, Finland. Over that time we have seen “Oiva” – designed by Allan Savolainen, and project managed by Chris Winter – emerge from the ground up from lofting and moulds to lamination and fairing.
Finally, eight months since the start of the built, we are delighted that Oiva has been in the water for the first time. On 28th September the new boat was rolled out of the shed and lowered into the water initially to check her flotation and rig.
Successful early sailing trials (with good warm clothing says Chris!) took place a few days later.
Chris, Henrik and the crew are looking forward to a busy 2023 season.
